It was one of Ivan's first songs as a soloist that had a profound influence on Jerry's life several years ago.
While Ivan listened intently,
Jerry shared the following story with him.

Jerry has over 15 years in radio broadcasting. He has broadcasted in several genres including country, news and information, talk, and Christian. "I can clearly remember to this very day while on the air on a Saturday night very late in a Christian radio station God decided to reach down and let me know He still loves me. I was struggling with many issues in my life and I was straying away from God. I was lost and searching for who I was or what I was supposed to be. I was in a shameful state. Then I played a song by Ivan Parker called "He's Been Faithful". I literally felt a presence in the room like I never felt before. I began to cry as I felt God telling me in my heart, "I am always here and I will never leave your side. I am waiting to listen when you are ready to talk". Jerry knew then that God had a special plan for his life when he was ready. Jerry thanked Ivan for singing such a powerful and praised God for using Ivan to reach him that night in the studio. Ivan relied, "You know, after all the autographs, pictures, lights, travel, and all the hoopla: this is really what matters. When someone shares from deep within their heart that they were touched by God in a special way by what I have sung or said, this is what makes it all worth while".
